This product belongs to the organic-inorganic composite permeable sand fixing material, which is different from pure desert bio based sand fixing agents and pure film-forming sand fixing treasures. It has the characteristics of deep penetration, water resistance and erosion resistance, and a balance of rigidity and toughness. It can be used in three major fields: ecological sand control, civil engineering disease restoration, and dust solidification

1、 Civil engineering: Sand reinforcement on the surface of concrete/cement mortar

Mild to moderate sanding and dusting of concrete floors in factory areas, warehouses, and garages for reinforcement and strengthening;

Powdering and sanding treatment of cement mortar plaster layer on interior walls and basements of buildings;

Insufficient rebound and loose surface repair of small concrete components on roads and bridges;

Advantages: It has a certain penetration depth, not just surface film formation, and the risk of peeling off is lower than that of pure acrylic sand fixing treasure; Waterproof, suitable for damp basements and outdoor road surfaces.

2、 Dust suppression and slope protection for mines, slag, and storage yards

Temporary dust suppression and solidification of open-pit mine waste dumping sites and sand and gravel piles to resist sediment loss caused by rainwater erosion;

Excavation of soil and sandy slopes for shallow soil consolidation and erosion prevention, prevention and control of wind erosion and rainwater gullies on the slope surface;

Long term dust suppression (replacing short-term dust suppressants) for construction waste disposal sites and temporary construction bare sand surfaces.

3、 Other expansion scenarios

Shallow solidification of sandy mudflat around rivers, lakes and reservoirs to reduce erosion by wind and waves;

Surface solidification of temporary simple sand foundation sites for national defense and outdoor use;

Sand fixation around cultural relics in sandy areas (low VOC environmentally friendly formula version).

4、 Not applicable scenario

Areas with severe sanding of concrete and complete pulverization of thick layers (requiring mortar repair before using this sand fixing agent for surface reinforcement);

Long term immersion in water environment (only resistant to rainwater erosion, not suitable for continuous underwater immersion);

In high-altitude areas with repeated freeze-thaw cycles (this formula focuses on water resistance, and if -20 ℃ antifreeze is required, it should be adjusted to a modified system of cellulose acetate/waterborne polyurethane antifreeze);

Heavy duty road deep structure reinforcement (only shallow reinforcement of surface layer 3-8mm, cannot replace base concrete).

5、 Precautions for the construction and use of sand fixing agents

The sand fixing effect of sand fixing agents not only depends on the material formula performance, but also on factors such as the base state, construction technology, environmental conditions, and maintenance methods. In engineering applications, there are common problems such as insufficient penetration, skin cracking, poor water resistance, short effective sand fixation period, and uneven dust suppression, most of which are not material defects but caused by improper use and control. To ensure the uniformity, compactness, erosion resistance, and wind erosion resistance of the consolidation layer, the following key points should be noted throughout the construction process.

1. Precautions for Base Surface Treatment

Before construction, it is necessary to thoroughly remove floating dust, loose quicksand, debris, and clumps from the sand surface to ensure that the sand layer is loose and uniform, without hard shells or accumulated water. If there is too much floating dust on the surface, the sand fixing agent will preferentially wrap the surface dust, block the pores, and prevent the liquid from penetrating, resulting in a false solidification phenomenon of “only skin formation, no penetration”, which is prone to peeling and falling off in the later stage. For sand surfaces with severe compaction and hardening, moderate loosening treatment is required to ensure permeability. At the same time, it is strictly prohibited to accumulate water or mud on the base surface. Excessive moisture can greatly dilute the sand fixing agent and reduce the cross-linking and solidification effect.

2. Precautions for ratio dilution and medication preparation

The dilution ratio corresponding to different degrees of sand looseness and wind and sand intensity varies, and it is strictly prohibited to dilute excessively with water at will. The concentration in loose areas of quicksand should be high and the dilution ratio should be small; Stable sandy land can be appropriately diluted to increase coverage area. Water should be used for drug preparation, and high salt and impurity containing wastewater is prohibited to prevent polymer flocculation, silica sol failure, and auxiliary agent deactivation. Mixing should be done at a low speed and uniformly to avoid high-speed shear damaging the polymer chain segments and associated structures, resulting in a decrease in sand fixation strength and water resistance. The medicine needs to be prepared and used immediately to avoid long-term static layering failure.

3. Requirements for construction environment conditions

The optimal construction temperature for sand fixing agent is 5-35 ℃. Low temperature environment has slow curing speed and incomplete cross-linking, which can easily lead to insufficient strength of the consolidation layer; High temperature and strong light environment can cause rapid dehydration and skinning of the surface, incomplete solidification of the interior, and the formation of hollowing, delamination, and cracking defects. No construction is allowed in strong wind, sand dust, rainstorm and frost weather, and the uncured crust is vulnerable to wind erosion and rain erosion. High altitude areas with large temperature differences between day and night should choose windless and daytime constant temperature periods for construction to ensure uniform and stable curing.

4. Key points of spraying process control

The construction adheres to the principle of “thin spraying multiple times and uniform infiltration”, and prohibits one-time thick spraying, stacking and flowing. Excessive thickness of a single spray can cause surface drug accumulation, shrinkage and cracking, whitening and salt precipitation; Uneven spraying can result in local leakage and excessive solidification, forming mottled crust and poor consistency in wind erosion resistance. Recommend low-pressure atomization spraying to evenly penetrate the sand layer by 3-8mm, forming deep consolidation rather than a single surface film. Slope surfaces and uneven sandy areas need to be sprayed in batches to prevent the accumulation of liquid medicine from flowing.

5. Precautions during the solidification and curing stage

The surface drying time of sand solidifier is generally 1-3 hours, and complete solidification takes 24-48 hours. The curing period is a critical period for the formation of the solidification network. During the maintenance period, trampling, crushing, scouring, and disturbing the sand surface are prohibited, otherwise it will damage the unstable three-dimensional bonding network and cause permanent structural defects. Low temperature and high humidity environments require appropriate extension of curing time, while high temperature and dry environments can provide moderate moisture retention to prevent rapid dehydration and cracking of the consolidation layer.

6. Storage and post maintenance precautions

Sand fixing agent shall be stored in a sealed and cool place to prevent freezing, sunscreen and high temperature exposure, and to avoid demulsification of lotion, colloid deterioration and auxiliary failure. After the completion of construction, avoid strong rainwater erosion and strong wind erosion in the early stage. In the later stage, cooperate with vegetation planting and grass grid sand fixation to extend the effective period of sand fixation.

6、 The main problems in the application process of existing sand fixing agents

Based on field experiments and engineering applications, the following common problems are commonly encountered in the use of various chemical sand fixing materials:

1. Difficulty balancing permeability and water resistance: formulations with good low viscosity permeability have poor water resistance and are prone to water corrosion; The high solid content water-resistant formula has high viscosity, weak penetration, and is prone to surface peeling.

2. The consolidation layer is prone to cracking and lacks weather resistance: pure inorganic systems have high brittleness and temperature difference cracking; Pure polymer systems are prone to degradation and pulverization failure due to UV aging.

3. The contradiction between ecology and strength is prominent: high-strength dense crust inhibits water infiltration and plant emergence; Degradable ecological materials have low strength and short shelf life.

4. Low construction fault tolerance: slight fluctuations in dilution ratio, spray thickness, and environmental temperature can cause differences in sand fixation effect.

5. Poor adaptability of a single material: Ordinary sand fixing agents cannot adapt to special harsh sandy environments such as high cold, rainy, and high salt.

7、 Targeted improvement plan and optimization technical measures

1. Optimization of formula system: organic-inorganic composite modification

Aiming at the weakness of single material performance, the composite system of silica sol/nano silicon+modified polymer lotion is adopted. Inorganic components provide rigid strength, UV resistance and aging resistance, while organic polymers improve the flexibility and crack resistance of the consolidation layer. By crosslinking modification to construct a dense three-dimensional network, the water resistance, erosion resistance, and wind erosion resistance are significantly improved, solving the problems of traditional sand solidifiers collapsing and aging failure when exposed to water. Simultaneously adding efficient infiltration and wetting agents to reduce the surface tension of the system, achieving a comprehensive effect of “low viscosity, high permeability, uniform film formation, and dense consolidation”.

2. Functional modification and upgrade: Multi functional optimization for water resistance, antifreeze, and water retention

Targeted modification for climate weaknesses in different regions: introducing hydrophobic crosslinking monomers to improve water resistance in rainy areas; The use of cellulose acetate/waterborne polyurethane antifreeze modification system in high-altitude regions reduces the freezing point of the system, improves low-temperature toughness and freeze-thaw stability; Compound moisturizing components in arid areas to enhance the water retention capacity of sand layers, balance sand fixation and vegetation growth, and achieve the integration of sand fixation, moisture retention, and growth promotion.

3. Construction process optimization: standardized spraying system

Abandon the traditional one-time thick spraying process and promote the standardized construction process of two thin spraying and interval curing. The first spray achieves deep penetration wetting and particle pre consolidation; After the surface dries, the second layer of re spraying is carried out to improve the dense crust on the surface, greatly reducing defects such as cracking, flowing, and insufficient penetration. Establish graded dilution standards based on the degree of sand looseness to achieve refined and adaptable construction.

4. Environmental adaptation optimization: partition specific formula system

Breaking the problem of poor adaptability of general sand fixing agents and establishing a specialized zoning system: adopting a high wind erosion resistant long-term formula in arid and sandy areas; High water resistance and erosion resistance formula is used in rainy areas; Adopting anti freezing and anti freezing formula in high-altitude areas; Low inhibition and biodegradable ecological formulas are used in desertified farmland to enhance engineering adaptability in different scenarios.
